Private Event Insurance was created as a sister program to WedSafe, the top wedding insurance program in the United States.
WedSafe was founded in 1999 by a couple who were unsuccessful in finding insurance protection for their own wedding and were motivated to provide the coverage for other couples in the future. As the success of the WedSafe program grew, they heard from many people who needed similar protection for other kinds of private events, and Private Event Insurance was born.
WedSafe & Private Event Insurance were acquired by Affinity Insurance Services, Inc. (an Aon company) in January, 2007 As the broker/administrator of the programs, Affinity handles the day to day operations – providing product expertise, program management and superior customer service. Our parent company, Aon Corporation, is a Fortune 250 company and the world's largest provider of insurance brokerage services.
Our special event cancellation and liability insurance policies are underwritten by Markel American Insurance Company, which has an: A (Excellent) A.M. Best Rating. Markel has been in business for over 50 years.
